I don't like that, if it is something you would like to do. Then I will suggest to make it possible to those between Standard and Simple..

I like the user interface like it is..

The idea is to have a simple mode and an expert mode, the expert mode being the current one that offers all possible options.
Many new comers are not well versed in security and for them it would be good to have a simple mode with step by step wizard that helps them create and manage their containers.

I agree. The simple mode should be OPTIONAL. I also like the GUI like it is and want full control.

In software development, screen design and UI capabilities have been taken almost to a level of a science in itself, taking almost as many ressources as development and debugging / testing itself.

Instead of a full redesign, maybe it would be easier to design a few dialogboxes that explain and guide through the most frequently used functions / features and call them a wizard. That way novice users can get the job done just as well. Maybe add a shell extension to Windows, enabling you to mount a file with a container suffix directly from explorer with a right click and also enabling dismounting in the same way.

With that covered the non technical users probably don't have to look at any UI at all and still benefit fully.
