I have just created a non-system encrypted VeraCrypt volume. Because of past loss of data when using TrueCrypt I intend to keep a data backup in an alternative encrypted media. Should the VeraCrypt volume become unreadable due to file corruption please tell me what form of backup I should make to try to make the volume readable? I obviously cannot use a Rescue Disk.

For non-system encrypted volumes, I recommend making an external backup of the header. Click on Volume Tools button.

As always, have backups of your data due to hardware failure, software issues or user error can cause loss of access to the volume even when you are not using encryption. :-)
