I am thinking of using VeraCrypt to encrypt some of the data on my Windows laptop's hard drive. The way I have the HDD set up is a partition for the operating system (Windows XP) and a partition for data. I don't know what the overhead is with on-the-fly encryption,
but I don't need everything on the data drive encrypted, just a few of the folders in the root directory. I don't really want to have to mount each of these folders as separate drive letters - is it not possible to mount a encrypted container to an empty folder
like you can with partitions under Windows Disk Manager?
