Can't in place encrypt system drive in Linux

is there a way to entirely in place encrypt my notebooks system drive? I already have Lubuntu installed on it. I installed VeraCrypt and tried to create a volume, but I can only chose "create an encryptet file container" and "create a volume within a partition/drive". No way to "encrypt an entire system partition/drive".

Any ideas what I can do?

Thank you

Currently, only Windows is supported for system encryption and there are no plans to implement it for Linux or MacOSX as there is a lack of technical solutions to effectively implement this.
