System Encryption Problems

I'm trying to encrypt my system partition on a new machine and can't get past the system encryption pretest. Its a 64-bit Windows machine with three partitions; an OS (C:), an EFI system partition and a recovery partition. Before clicking "Test", the wizard prompts that Drive #0 will be modified. After clicking test, the system does not reboot, it shuts down and remains powered off. Upon manual reboot, I'm not prompted for my password on the boot screen and a Bios prompt reads "Secure boot violation - invalid signature detected. Check secure boot policy in setup". Once Windows boots, the Veracrypt wizard says the pretest failed.

I'm not an advanced user, so any guidance in resolving this would greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I am having the same problem. Since the message said "Secure boot violation," I went into the bios and disabled the secure boot option. However, the pretest is still failing with the same message.
