BUG: Volume password with accented words

Topics: Technical Issues

Hi,

I'm using VeraCrypt 1.17 at Windows and Linux and my mother tongue is Brazilian Portuguese (Pt-BR).

Windows Keymap:
Pt-BR ABNT2

Ubuntu/Debian Keymap:
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="br"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS=""

So... I created a new VeraCrypt volume at my external drive using Windows 10 and set a password with characters like á, é, í, ó, ú, ç etc...

Then I tried to mount the volume at Ubuntu 16.04 and Debian 8.5 and ALLWAYS got an password error message!

To make an "workaround" I connect my external drive back to the Windows 10 machine and changed the volume password for one without accented words. After setting the new password connected the external drive once again in my Linux machine, and VeraCrypt 1.7 mounted the volume like a charm!

Is this a know bug? When it will be solved?

Thank you!
