Problem Mounting Drive for first time in Linux Ubuntu 16.04

I've been a longtime Windows user and trying to switch over to linux. So far I haven't learned too much about it, but it would be great for me if I could get my VeraCrypt 1.17 to work soon.

I've succeeded to install it using the command:
sudo bash veracrypt-1.17-setup-gui-x64

Seems to open ok into GUI.

I tried to mount my Veracrypt file from my flashdrive (which loads fine in Windows 7 Veracrypt 1.17 BTW) but, after choosing the correct file under Select File, and entering the correct password to mount it, and waiting for the processing, it gives error message as:

No such file or directory: dmsetup
Veracrypt::Process::Execute::88_

What am I doing wrong, please?

sudo apt-get install dmsetup

Thank you that got it working! It's so nice to have VeraCrypt running on my new Linux system.
I will say a prayer that God Bless you for the help you have given me today.
