Why is mounting using GUI 2x slower than with command line?

Hi, first thank you very much for improving the mounting speed, I'm considering to abandon PIM, because the mounting time is starting to be acceptable.

What is interesting, that using the benchmark tool (https://bitbucket.org/veracrypt/veracrypt/downloads/VeraCrypt_Benchmark.zip) I measured only ~3 seconds with sha-512, but the same sha-512 container mounted from GUI needed ~6 seconds.

I'm wondering, why is the command line mounting 2 times faster? 6 seconds from my previous 11 is amazing improvement, but 3 seconds would be even better ;-)

Btw. do I understand it correctly, that when you managed to reduce the mounting time to a half, the adversary needs half time too and so we are half secure than before?

Thanks.

In the GUI, did you select the SHA-512 hash or was the hash selection set to Autodetection?

That's it, thank you :-) I left everything untouched, so autodetection. When I choose sha-512, it mounts at the same speed.

How does the autodection actually work? I thought that autodection tries sequentially all the algorithms until the mount is successful, but sha-512 should be checked first, right? So why the extra time?
