Hi there,

I think I've got a BIG problem. I've got a container, about 2GB in size, which I used for several months. I got work in there from about a year and more ... For a month or so (December), I uninstalled Veracrypt, now re-installed it - and I can't open my container any longer.
I get the error 6948: Incorrect password, volume PIM number, PRF or "not a valid volume".
I created it using the latest Veracrypt version, the one I re-installed now.
So, I'm not able to open the original container, and I'm not able to open the backups.
"Backup volume header" doesn't help, I get the same error.
Please, do you know anything that would help me? I can't believe that a year's work is just "gone" ....
cu,
Volker

EDIT: I found a backup from October, so the damage is not so big after all....

Hi Volker,

Glad that you had a backup of the container because it appears your container has been completely corrupted: if both the normal and the backup header are not working, this means that the beginning and the end of the file are both corrupted.
Of course, VeraCrypt can not cause this, so you have to look for the reason behind this corruption to avoid having a similar error in the future.
