Hi!

I thought it would be useful to have an ability to paste into password entry textbox from clipboard. Otherwise it's impossible to use password managers. Currently in Mac version it doesn't work.

Cheers!

Clipboard uses unsafe storage and insecure memory, it can be easily hijacked by third party. There's a reason this does not work, PGP has this disabled too.

If you do not care about security, you can use autohotkey script, which will paste it for you from a clipboard, or don't encrypt your data at all ;-)

typing in a password (or anything essentially) can't be secure either. Primarily because of keyloggers. Also because an average user can not memorize dozens of long complex and non-repeating passwords. This is why password managers are here. Both are not perfect but password-manager option is believed to be the least evil.

2nd factor would be great too of cause. Easy 2nd factor can be brought in by use of Yubikey static password. you can simulate typing in a very long and complex password with touch of a button on the dongle. It will go into VeraCrypt because OS thinks it comes from keyboard. But due to the same fact a keylogger will catch it too.

Cheers!

this is the tiny border and the compromise between security and convenience..... same as PIM and waiting login time....

Oh come on, if you are afraid of using a system infected with keylogger, then you really don't need any passwords at all. It is very unise to use clipboard for passwords, even evil script inside internet explorer page (if someone still uses that crap) can silently hijack your clipboard, or at least it was possible in the past.

You have been warned, your call ;) Install autohetkey scripting language from autohotkey.com and save the following code as pasteanywhere.ahk
^!p::
   SetKeyDelay, 20
   Send %clipboard%
Return
Now run pasteanywhere.ahk (note that it will reside in tray and you can terminate it with right click, exit) and whenever you press ctrl & alt & p anywhere, data from clipboard gets pasted to an active window, even into veracrypt or pgp passoword window. Simple, but insecure.
