Tray Icon Incompatible with new OpenSuse Leap 42.1

The new Plasma5 is the problem. There are new standards for icons. There is a QT package that permits the use of most of problem icons: sni-qt (installs by default with O/S) and sni-qt32 (must be added). But these packages won't correct the VeraCrypt icon.

The launcher icon is fine. Its the tray icon that won't display. There is a space opened for the icon in the tray when VeraCrypt is running. That space will perform as if the icon were there. Its right/left click menus are all available from the empty space. The tray icon itself just doesn't display.

Since I upgraded to this new Suse Leap using Plasma5, the icons that seem to be a problem are the ones that can change their state in the tray. The VeraCrypt icon changes when a non-system volume is mounted vs unmounted.
