converting Truecrypt container to Veracrypt -- "Unchanged vs HMAC-Whirlpool"

I am converting my Truecrypt container to Veracrypt. I noticed that when I reached the Change Password Window to input the new password, that in the PKCF-5 PRF drop down box, mine said "Unchanged" and the example on the Veracrypt website showed "HMAC-Whirlpool".
Should I leave as is or should I change to HMAC-Whirlpool or an of the other options in this drop down?

You are not obliged to change the PRF. My only recommendation is that if you use RIPEMD-160 for your TrueCrypt container, you change it to SHA-512 or Whirlpool. I personally use SHA-512 but there are those who avoid it because it designed by NSA and they prefer Whirlpool which offer the same strength (that's why I put it on the example).

Thanks for the quick response.
Just to be clear, I do not remember what level of encryption I used with Truecrypt so would it be better to use Whirlpool or SHA-512 rather than leaving it as Unchanged?

Yes, change your hash to either Whirlpool or SHA-512.
