I have not enought letters in Drive letter list.
Please add A and B letters to list. (Windows can assign this letters to HDD, why VeraCrypt can't?)
Also maybe You think. How to extended Drive letter list?
26 letters is too small set for modern computer/home server.
Windows can mount drives as Folder

Please think about this.

Hello Harry,

Have you assigned A or B drive letter to an external drive without any usage issues?

The reason I ask is when I Google searching this subject, I found some possible limitations.

A computer can use up to 26 drive letters. Drive letters A and B are reserved for floppy disk drives, but you can assign these letters to removable drives if the computer does not have a floppy disk drive. Hard disk drives in the computer receive letters C through Z, while mapped network drives are assigned drive letters in reverse order (Z through B).
.
What is a removable drive?

To programing it's have no difference.
Use these letters as everyone else.
Floppy disk drive is obsolete (how much decades of years We will reserve this letters?).
I also have no CD-DVD drive on home server.
And I use A letter many years with fixed HDD on other computer - never have problem with Windows.

If Mounir decides that this request is feasible, you can create a request using the Issues and reference this thread.

Thank you.

I have added support for using drive letters A and B for mounting VeraCrypt volumes: https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/52118ffeff167de56ec41d17685a1f3df1d962e8

You can download a beta setup (1.11) that contains this from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/veracrypt/files/VeraCrypt%20Nightly%20Builds/
