Hello,
In my business, external backup disk are encrypted thanks to truecrypt, the encryption key used is stored in a centralized SQL database (the database is encrypted keyfile), the process is as follows: the client pc recovers the encrypted key local then decrypted on request if a disk access is required (all this process is transparent to the user), the parameter passing method keyfile command line is a big security risk then it is sufficient to anaylser processes via procmon example to understand how (the keyfile happened in paramametre command line), is it possible to pass this keyfile via a pipe and don't writing keyfile on the disk ?
Would be a future improvement axis already planned?
Thank's

Hi David,

This is indeed an interesting idea that could also be applied to the password argument of the command line.

This is not planned but I think it is worth taking into account for future versions.

Could you please create an issue asking for the implementation of pipe communication in command line mode? This way the feature will not be forgotten.

Thanks.

I've created David's issue here: https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/workitem/68

Hi Idrassi

Thank you for taking into account my request, an alternative would be to natively offer an API, a similar project on the basis of a dll in VB.net for truecrypt has been launched but seems stanby (http://truecryptapi.codeplex.com)
